SFI is a player-led resource to support athletes at every stage of their philanthropic journey. Our purpose is solely to help athletes help others. We do this by coming alongside players, their families, and foundations to serve as a trusted partner helping to navigate the complexities of the nonprofit landscape, while identifying innovative opportunities to maximize impact and build a charitable legacy.
SFI offers customized pathways to meet each athlete’s unique charitable objectives and priorities. Players benefit from the value of shared resources across an aligned network of athlete-led nonprofits and initiatives committed to social impact through sport.
With Sport for Impact, athletes can establish their own, new charitable foundation or move their existing nonprofit under Sport for Impact’s unique fiscal sponsorship model. Our structure allows each foundation to operate independently with its own governance and the autonomy to direct and manage all programs, charitable initiatives, and funding resources. While SFI provides the compliance oversight and mitigates risk handling all tax filings, charitable registrations, donation receipts, and reporting.
Athlete Foundations
Athletes have the opportunity to create player-led and branded community benefit initiatives, campaigns or programming managed and delivered by SFI in collaboration with the athlete's vision. Providing a pathway for players to establish their unique charitable brand identity through partnership with causes and their communities in a meaningful capacity, without having to recreate the wheel or commit to managing their own foundation. SFI supports players in building an enduring and authentic charitable legacy with intention and purpose.
Community Impact Projects
Players can join Sport for Impact cause-driven campaigns and programming alongside SFI athletes lending their name, brand, and platform to advance priority social issues through the power and influence of player-led collective action and athlete impact across the sports landscape.
